STANLEY® “No. 62” Sweetheart™ Low Angle Jack Plane

Own a little piece of history, with a modern classic from STANLEY®. STANLEY’s Sweetheart™ range, first launched in the 1920’s and named to honour long-time company president, William Hart (1884-1915), quickly became synonymous with some of the most sought after and cherished woodworking tools on the market. Today’s modernised Sweetheart™ series, updated to meet the latest needs of modern-day craftspeople, boasts a range of premium woodworking tools based on their original 1920s designs, including the iconic “No. 62” Low Angle Jack Plane itself. If you're a woodworker, finding a Sweetheart™ tool is like finding a treasure, and many still consider Sweetheart™ to be the best of the best. The jack plane (or “fore plane” as they are sometimes known) is used for the initial rough flattening applications. A relatively low bed angle also makes the “No. 62” Low Angle Jack Plane well suited to cutting end grain. Made from extra thick 3/16" (4.75mm) A2 steel for excellent edge retention. Thick 3mm blade and one-piece base and frog for reduced chatter and increased accuracy. Ductile plane iron base for added weight and durability. Adjustable mouth controls the thickness of shavings. Thicker shavings for heavy cuts, or thinner shavings for finer cuts. “Norris-style” adjuster, with lateral locking feature, adjusts both the planing depth and its lateral angle for a perfectly level cut without slant. Easy-to-use solid, brass adjustments for smooth adjustments. Suitable for initial rough flattening applications, and well suited to cutting end grain, the “No. 62” Sweetheart™ Low Angle Jack Plane from STANLEY® makes a great choice for woodworkers. A great choice for woodworking projects of all types and sizes. Replacement plane iron available as SKU# 0-12-142
